1985: Ortivus is founded to develop a unique system for monitoring patients with ischemis heart disease. The system was called MIDA (Myorcardial Ischemic Disease Analysis).
1987-1991: Clinical prototypes of MIDA are tested at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm and Sahlgrenska University hospital in Gothenburg.
1992: The system is launched on the Swedish market and installed at several hospitals.
1994: OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)-agreement is signed with Hewlett-Packard (later Philips Medical Systems) for MIDA. Ortivus aquires Svenska Telemedicine AB, developers of telemedicine solutions, including MobiMed, which is launched in Sweden in the following year.
1997: Ortivus is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange (OMX).
1998: Ortivus UK is established to launch MobiMed on the British Market. This year Ortivus launches the world’s first complete portable telemedicine terminal for prehospital use.
2001: Sweet Computer Services Inc is acquired. The US company has a strong position in administrative systems for emergency medical services (EMS) and are market leaders within billing systems for the EMS-market.
2003: Canadian company AVel-Tech is acquired and the EMS product portfolio is completed with dispatch and positioning systems for emergency services as well as for public safety organizations.
2004: The agreement with Philips Medical Systems becomes non-exclusive. CoroNet, a new monitoring system for cardiac care is installed at a test site.
2005: CoroNet is launched in Sweden and Finland and a number of installations are made.
Ortivus is involved in the procurement process for the nationwide Connecting for Health IT program in the UK.
MobiMed is installed in over 100 ambulances in Norway.
The North American subsidiaries gain important contracts and strengthen the company’s position within EMS.
In May 2005, the German company Medos AG is acquired. Medos is specialized on clinical information systems, such as PACS (Picture Archive and Communication Systems), which broadens Ortivus’ product offering in Healthcare IT.
2006: Ortivus is selected to be a preferred supplier in the Connecting for Health project in the UK and is still strongly involved in the procurement process.
Contracts are signed with new partners/distributors in Spain, Greece, Holland and Belgium.
Ortivus cooperates with Philips in an EMS-project in the Piemonte-region in Italy.
